Post Traumatic Stress

If you are reading this post you and in all probability, your family is a lucky survivor in a Covid 19 infested globe and have everything to be thankful for. It is a great opportunity to reboot our lives economically, professionally, and mentally. I will explain how viz:

Economically

Most of us have lived a lockdown phase with bare essentials and many of us were quite happy the way lived. There was a forced reduction in expenses which lead to many undiscovered truths unknown to us like work from home can be efficient, we can cook great healthy food at home, exercise at home and many more. We can save these discretionary expenses and invest for next pandemic which will come for sure. Also those who took loans to buy cars, foreign trips, flashy mobiles took moratoriums and dread it now as the moratorium ends. Save, invest and buy only from your savings in the future once the present loans are paid off. Any pain in the meanwhile has to be endured as a price for past profligacy.

Professionally

Most Professions/ businesses are fragile to Black Swans( unexpected exponential unfavorable event ) as we live in Extremistan. Big established businesses are down on their knees and small have been decimated. But there is a very small minority that has profited from the Pandemic like Pharma companies, Grocery suppliers, mask manufacturers, Insurance companies. These businesses are antifragile to current black Swan ie they only have upsides and that too big upside with virtually no downside.. Many more ideas will come up and especially in digital space. Keep looking for such opportunities.

Mentally

When I say mentally I simply mean what was the worst that could have happened to you? Your death? Death of a family member? I guess the death of a family member right? You and your loved ones have survived and have everything to be thankful for. Live each day to the full in celebration of being alive and full of gratitude. Take intelligent risks and always remember

   NO HAPPINESS WITHOUT GRATITUDE
   NO SUCCESS WITHOUT RISKS
   NO WEALTH WITHOUT FRUGALITY
   NO HEALTH WITHOUT IMMUNITY

Reflections from Vantage Point in Himalayas.

  NEERAJ MAHAJAN SCOT ADAMS Over this weekend I drove 400 km solo in my 4X4 to a friend's resort located in the quiet and obscure village of Satbonga in Kumaon, Uttarakhand. Reflecting at 7000 ft. in the lap of the Himalayas, affords a vantage point where most of one's problems can be looked down upon.
